President's Message

At TCE, no matter what your business may be, our goal is to help you do it even better.

Gail Bassette, President/CEO of TCE

When I began my business more than a 13 years ago, I made the usual business blunders. I purchased equipment that soon became obsolete. I never re-tooled my business plan. I took on overhead expenses that were out of synch with my revenue. But I survived the critical first five years when most business owners throw in the towel.

When I speak with fellow business owners about their experiences, I recognize a common theme: what matters most is that you do the right things as you learn from what you may have done wrong. This philosophy, of focusing on what is right, rather than what is wrong, is at the core of all human achievements. Recognizing this truism set me on a course to master the discipline of organizational excellence. From managing people to maximizing limited or abundant resources, good organizations rely on best practices and build upon what works. As I built TCE, I operated with a philosophy backed by core values of service, integrity and excellence. It is a philosophy that guides TCE to this day. It is a philosophy that I believe has led to our progressive success for so many years. Our service for our customers means that we are always there when they need us, we anticipate future challenges and we have the resources to address those challenges readily at hand.

Every business decision, every new idea focuses on our customers’ needs and desires. That’s why we take pride in being a company that provides services that are “customer-focused and value added.” We understand our clients are the reason why we exist. Recognizing what seems obvious led us to reach out to other growing businesses and to develop The Business Academy. We wanted to share the “right” business tools and sage advice in one place—something we knew would benefit many others. We wanted to see businesses flourish without having to travel the road of hard lessons we tread. In our government and private sector consulting work, we have listened to our customers and answered their desires for reliable and quality service that goes the extra mile. It’s what good business is about: good listening, good execution and the best resources.

Sincerely,

C. Gail Bassette
